Call for Program Content: Fan Flash Seminars
Swancon is looking for content creators and fans for a forthcoming programming item that will run at the convention.
A Flash Fan Seminar is a 90 minute convention program item comprised of a number of Flash Fan Presentations. Each Presentation is a fully developed Powerpoint presentation, and each speaker has 10 minutes to present, followed by a couple of minutes for questions before the next presentation begins.
This is a great opportunity to spend 10 minutes talking and presenting on something you love. Topics will be arranged in themes, and this is a high energy way of introducing new people to your interests and encouraging enthusiasm for your fandom. It’s a lot of fun, over quickly, and highly entertaining for the audience. Plus you might learn something!
Please email our Program Coordinator your suggestions! We hope to have enough nominations and ideas to run the following themed Flash Fan Seminar streams:
- Science!
- Writing!
- You Should Check Out…
To indicate your interest, you need to nominate yourself and your topic. Once we have a few topics, we’ll arrange them into Themes so the Flash Fan slots are cohesive and interesting to the same audience.
You will need to provide your full powerpoint presentation seven working days before the convention. Your Powerpoint presentation can be as simple as a piece of cover art, but some form of graphics are necessary. If you have problems creating a powerpoint presentation but would still like to participate, then let us know, and we can help you.
If you have any questions please ask Sarah Parker via email at programming-2015@swancon.com.au, private message her on Facebook, or leave a comment on the FB post.
